Solvent- is something that dissolves that form in the solution.

Dissolving- is something that can melt like salt, coffee and more. It shows that you can't see them anymore because it dissolved in the water.

The Dirty water did work and our ones was almost clear we just need to retry it again so that it can be much more clearer when it starts dripping and we will see if its gonna be much more clearer than the other one. The solute which was the liquid dissolved in the solvent and the solvent dissolves from the solution.
