Maths

Rounding To The Nearest 10 100 1000

We did this with Mr. Tisch he thought us how to round to the nearest hundreds tens thousands it's basically if its lower it means that it is near to the zero, and if its higher it's near to the tens. for example: 68 the number is 8 so its near to the 10's so it will be 70. If the number is 65 you are rounding to the number 5 the five is lower so it will be 60.

Place Value

We did place value as well a place value is a numeral value that a digit has by virtue of its position in a number. it was pretty hard for me  before now i get them a little now.

( 3 tsp baking soda, ½ cup vinegar)
Balloon 2
( 3 tsp salt, ½ cup soda)
Balloon 3
( 2 tsp yeast, 1 tsp sugar )

Chromatography

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture.
Eg. blood, ink, drugs,

Scenario
A crime has been committed. The police have a signed cheque and a letter from the same crime scene but it seems like the handwriting is different. They have 3 suspects but not enough evidence. They need to know if the letter and the cheque were written by the same person.

How do they tell if the pens used for both of these pieces of evidence are the same?

Rainbow paper

Materials;

1. chromatography paper
2. felt pens
3. cup
4. water

Process:

Step 1:poring
Step 2:bloging
Step 3:watching
Step 4:helping
Step 5:geting
Step 6:coloring

Conclusion: What have I learnt from this experiment?
when you put colour in the water it changes colour and that was really fascinating. we learnt how  do it and the colour were turning some neon stuffs, the colours were spreading all over the place and the water went at the top of the paper.

Skittles

Aim: To separate colours from skittles by using the chromatography.

Materials;

1.  water
2.  skittles
3.  container

Process:

Step 1: the skittles colour spread all over the container.
Step 2: when Mr. Tish put water on it the colours were starting to spread out.
Step 3: we were aloud to eat the skittle when Mr. Tish said.
Step 4: when we mix the colour it turn into orange.

Conclusion: What have I learnt from this experiment?
what i learnt from this experiment is that while pouring some water in the container with the skittles the skittles were starting to spread out because of the water. i learnt how the colours were spreading out and the skittles were turning white.

Conclusion: (what did you learn or see)
i learn so many things all about foods all about there chemical and solid/liquid/gas i learn a lot of food stuffs and drinks. i really like how i learn all about foods and drinks by searching them up and what they are all about.

Have A Great Day Everyone :)
