For the last two weeks, we have been working on our kindness banner and we have been designing it on what should we add on the big paper. We also wrote down about kindness and why we should do it and how it change other peoples lives.

This is how are poster looked like. :)

- Paints
- Pencils and erasers

Tuesday 12 November 2019

Hi guys! Today we did some inspired writing and we describe on what is on the picture. This is the one that I did.

I did about the parrot one

Liyah
  1. There is a parrot standing on the wood
  2. The parrot stood on the long wood.
  3. The parrot standing on the long wood looking towards down to move somewhere else so that the parrot can be safe.
  4. The parrot jumped down the floor and quickly move from a different spot and he was safe and sound.
  5. The brave parrot hid behind the bush and look around if he was safe and sound from the bush that he hid in.
  6. The fearless parrot flew away as quickly as he can out from the bush, and the parrot was lucky to get out from that place that he didn’t like because there were so many people chase that parrot.

Hurumanu - Climate change and the future

Hurumanu: Climate Change and the future

Aim; To look at the different ways we can prevent climate change in the future.

What places will be effected?
The places that will be affected are all around the coast of New Zealand.
What else do we need to think about?
We need to think about building houses, not on the coast.
What other places around NZ will be affected?
The other places around NZ will be affected is the Pacific Islands.
What does this do to our drinking water?
It will put salt on the drinking water.
What are the main concerns?
  1.   Flooding
  2.   Erosion

What can we do?
  1.  Recycling.
  2.  Use less plastic.
  3.  Do not throw rubbish in the ocean.

What is the one, silver bullet solution?
Recycling.

What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
  1.   Renewable fuels.
  2.   Transport the uses solar energy or batteries.
  3.   Recycle.
What are 3 others you can think of?
  1.   Using less plastic.
  2.   Walk instead of using cars.
  3.   Do not throw rubbish everywhere.
Activities:

Carbon Footprint
Carbon Footprint explained

Dwelling
Water
Recreation
Heating and cooling
Electricity
Transportation
Food
Waste
Air Travel
Consumption

Colour 1: for actions they are already doing
Colour 2: for actions that they pledge to undertake in the future

Ecological Handprint The Ecological handprint builds on the concepts from the Carbon Footprint. We will look at the positive actions of:

  1. Transportation
  2. Community
  3. Consumption
  4. Water
  5. Food
  6. Home
  7. Waste

    Renewable Energy

Aim: To make a solar powered oven.

    Materials:

    1.   Pizza box.
    2.   Tin Foil.
    3.   Black paper.
    4.   Glad wrap
    5.   Scissors.
    6.   Ruler.
    7.   Pen.
    8.   Newspaper.
    9.   Vivid.
    Steps:
    1.   Grab a pizza box.
    2.   Cut a 5 metre square in the middle of the pizza box with scissors and use a pen so that you know where to cut it in straight line using a ruler.
    3.   Put the foil under the cardboard that you cut and the extra foil fold it on top of the cardboard.
    4.   Put the plastic wrap underneath the square not on top underneath, then tape it.
    5.   Put the black paper inside the pizza box then the extra put it on the side then tape it.

    Conclusion

Aim: To make a presentation that investigates different renewable energy's.

    Section 1: Title Page

    Section 2: Definitions
    1. Hydro Energy - from the energy of falling or fast-running water, which can be harnessed
    2. Solar Energy
    3. Wind Energy
    4. Wave Energy
Section 3; Investigate each of the 4 Energy types.
( Hydro ,Solar ,Wind ,Wave )

    1. Type: Hydro.
    2. Is it used in NZ ? Yes it's use in New Zealand.
    3. Other Countries that use it? Yes they are use in different countries.
    4. How is it used to generate electricity? the plants capture the energy of falling water to generate electricity from it.
    5. Draw and label a diagram of the main parts of the electricity generator? This can be done on paper and uploaded or on a drawing program on your device. I do not want any Internet images or pictures. They must be hand drawn using a ruler and labelled.

Section 4: Renewable Energy in the future.

List 10 ways that renewable energy will be used in the future to replace our current activities.

    Antimatter.
    Fuel cells.
    Nuclear.
    Ocean thermal energy conversion.
    Hydroelectricity.
    Biomass.
    Petroleum.
    Wind.
    Coal.
    Solar.
